Following a fantastic National Apprenticeship Week 2019 for Unipres, the company was delighted to stage an event to celebrate its latest successful cohort of apprentices.

This “Celebration of Success” event provided the opportunity to recognise everyone achieving their Apprenticeship in 2018, no matter the level or subject they were studying.

Speaking at the event, Operations Director, John Cruddace, said: “Congratulations to everyone for completing another successful year at Unipres. We have an incredibly talented group of apprentices right across the business who are the future of Unipres.

“This event also provides an opportunity for us to recognise the achievements of individuals who stood out from the crowd in 2018 and deserved to be nominated for Apprentice of the Year 2019, and it was great to be able to honour this year’s winner, Michael Knight, who works as a Production Operative/Assembly Dept.”

Michael took the opportunity of advancing his skills by enrolling in the Business Improvement Techniques/Autonomous Maintenance Apprenticeship Level 2. The programme gave him the platform to show his capabilities and undertake tasks he would never have dreamed of doing.

Not only did he gain skills for himself, he undertook the role of trainer and rolled-out the new procedure to over 600 staff. This behaviour exceeded all expectations and not only did he achieve his Level 2 Apprenticeship, he gained approval to be enrolled on to a three-year Level 3 Apprenticeship – Engineering Manufacture – he now begins a new educational journey and a new career.

Congratulations Michael – a fabulous achievement and very well done indeed.
