Why did you decide to do an apprenticeship at Unipres?
I was intrigued by the opportunity to work in the finance department having enjoyed working with numbers in school. Having done some research on the company before my interview it seemed a friendly work environment alongside the excellent apprenticeship scheme that Unipres offer. This was a big factor in why I wanted to work for Unipres as I wanted to make sure I was working somewhere which look after their apprentices which Unipres does brilliantly.
What skills have you learnt whilst on your apprenticeship?
I have learned numerous skills in my short period of time as an apprentice at Unipres, including how to enter sales invoices, dealing with exports going out of the country, how to enter direct debits and standing order invoices along with gaining vital experience in the workplace and getting used to working full time.
What advice would you give to someone thinking about doing an apprenticeship?
If anyone is contemplating doing an apprenticeship my main bit of advice would be to apply as it gives you a great learning to working balance gives you a unique opportunity to learn while you’re working which you can’t get from any other option.
What are you most proud of doing on your apprenticeship?
I would say I am most proud of the way I have coped with the change from leaving school to starting my apprenticeship as it is a big change to start with having to adjust from one to the other.
What do you hope to have achieved in the next five years?
I hope to have gained as many qualifications as I can and continue learning and gaining experience in finance.
