In apprenticeship week (February 5) we celebrated our current apprentices as well as launching our new apprenticeships.

Conor Reid, Maintenance Team Leader, completed his engineering degree at Sunderland University with first class honours.

Gregg Wallace, Senior Maintenance Supervisor said “Conor has done exceptionally well achieving a first class honour’s. This is a fantastic achievement, especially considering he has completed this whilst working a busy three shift rotation, leading a shift of Technicians.

“This reflects Conor’s commitment to hard work, and also his drive to progress within Unipres. Excellent work Conor, onwards and upwards.”

Craig Dobson with Paul Staines Senior Controller in Production Engineering

Craig Dobson, Maintenance Technician also completed his Level 4 HNC Maintenance Apprenticeship.

He is the first person to do this by coming through the Company Training Programme.

Both, started by doing the Level 3 Engineering Maintenance Apprenticeship which trains the generation of Unipres Maintenance Apprentices.

The four-year apprenticeship includes a mix of class room work at Hartlepool college as well as on the job training at the site in Sunderland.
