We have an opportunity for a Commercial Engineer to join our team where you will be responsible for developing and improving customer relationships and ensure profitability in line with company targets.
Salary: £40,000-£45,000 depending on experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Co-ordinate and gather required information from internal departments to ensure on time completion and accuracy of quotation
- Prepare sales quotations in line with the business policy
- Lead the Commercial discussions to ensure award of business within the parameters of the business policy and thereafter enhance business parameters
- Enhance the profitability of Unipres, maximising the opportunity presented by any change introduced by the customer
- Lead Value Added Engineering activity with the customer and Internally to achieve annual cost reduction targets
- Monitor market trends and competitor strategies
- To ensure that all work is completed in line with company policies and procedures
- Any other duties as requested to assist in the effective management of the department
The Person:
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have the following skills, experiences and qualifications:
- Experience within the automotive industry
- Strong technical knowledge, understanding of automotive processes, components and supply chain management
- Proficiency in a foreign language would be beneficial (French / Spanish)
- Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to resolve problems in a methodical and logical manner
- Degree educated in a related subject
- Minimum of 5years experience within manufacturing
- Experience of face-to-face negotiations with customers
- Ability to work towards a strategy of continuous improvement
- Computer literate, with advanced Excel skills
Schedule:
- Monday – Thursday: 7:45am – 4:30pm
- Friday: 7:45am – 2:10pm
