We have an opportunity for a Commercial Engineer to join our team where you will be responsible for developing and improving customer relationships and ensure profitability in line with company targets.

Salary: £40,000-£45,000 depending on experience 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordinate and gather required information from internal departments to ensure on time completion and accuracy of quotation
  • Prepare sales quotations in line with the business policy
  • Lead the Commercial discussions to ensure award of business within the parameters of the business policy and thereafter enhance business parameters
  • Enhance the profitability of Unipres, maximising the opportunity presented by any change introduced by the customer
  • Lead Value Added Engineering activity with the customer and Internally to achieve annual cost reduction targets
  • Monitor market trends and competitor strategies
  • To ensure that all work is completed in line with company policies and procedures
  • Any other duties as requested to assist in the effective management of the department

The Person:

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have the following skills, experiences and qualifications:

  • Experience within the automotive industry
  • Strong technical knowledge, understanding of automotive processes, components and supply chain management
  • Proficiency in a foreign language would be beneficial (French / Spanish)
  • Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to resolve problems in a methodical and logical manner
  • Degree educated in a related subject
  • Minimum of 5years experience within manufacturing
  • Experience of face-to-face negotiations with customers
  • Ability to work towards a strategy of continuous improvement
  • Computer literate, with advanced Excel skills


  • Monday – Thursday: 7:45am – 4:30pm
  • Friday: 7:45am – 2:10pm
