We have an opportunity for a Senior Controller who will lead a small team of Commercial Engineers responsible for various customers and projects. You will be required to develop relationships with existing customers whilst exploring new business opportunities. You will be expected to work closely with various stakeholders in the organisation in several locations – UK, Japan and France. The key objective being to maximise the profitability of the organisation, grasping every opportunity to do so, working in a professional manner to extremely tight deadlines.

Salary: Up to £60,000

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create Sales forecasts and budget management
  • Track and present Cost performance and Cost Recovery items
  • Provide monthly/quarterly data on business activities, discuss strategies, priorities and issues with the Commercial Manager
  • Support business improvement activities to ensure the strategic goals of the business are met.
  • Manage VA/VE with the customer. Identify additional benefits and cost reduction ideas whilst preventing any erosion of Unipres margin
  • Managing day to day activities of the Commercial team
  • Support the preparation of sales quotations in line with the business policy, ensuring on time completion and accuracy
  • Ensure all quotes have the appropriate financial, commercial and management approval prior to submission.
  • Develop and improve customer relationships
  • Negotiate with the customers
  • Enhance the profitability of Unipres, maximising the opportunity presented by any change introduced by the customer
  • Manage and resolve day to day issues with customers in a timely and effective manner
  • Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement
  • Support relevant internal and external compliance and re-certification audits Monitor market trends and competitor strategies

The Person:

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have the following skills, experiences and qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level (A Business or Commercial degree is advantageous but not essential)
  • Minimum of 5 years Commercial experience within an automotive manufacturing business
  • Experience in Project Management
  • Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with proven experience in resolving difficult issues
  • Ability to establish and develop relationships with both internal and external contacts
  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities under pressure.
  • Self motivated
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Experience of face-to-face negotiations with customers
  • Attention to detail with the ability to analyse data and present information to various levels
  • Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements
  • Proficiency in a foreign language would be beneficial (French and/or Spanish)
  • Able to travel when required (UK and abroad)

Schedule:

  • Monday – Thursday: 7:45am – 4:30pm
  • Friday: 7:45am – 2:10pm
