Finance Apprenticeship
Why did you decide to do an apprenticeship at Unipres?
I chose to do my apprenticeship with Unipres because I wanted to work within the manufacturing industry as it is such an important part of the North East. Unipres also has a great reputation for their apprentices and the experience you gain through working in a global company is such a good opportunity.
What skills have you learnt whilst on your apprenticeship?
I have learnt many skills throughout my apprenticeship, my analytical and organisation skills have massively improved in my apprenticeship due to having a list of jobs with deadlines ensuring they are all completed on time and to an accurate manner. I have also become so much more confident in myself not only within the workplace but outside of work too.
What advice would you give to someone thinking about doing an apprenticeship?
My advice to someone thinking about doing an apprenticeship is to go for it, it is by far the best decision I have ever made. You gain valuable experience that you wouldn’t learn at University whilst earning money at the same time. Through doing an apprenticeship you also get so much support from your workplace to ensure that you will succeed.
What are you most proud of doing on your apprenticeship?
So far my proudest achievement within my apprenticeship is being nominated for Apprentice of the year. This really showed me that the hard work that you put it never goes unnoticed in Unipres.
What do you hope to have achieved in the next five years?
I hope to have achieved my full AAT qualification (MAAT) and then have started gaining my CIMA qualification and develop myself further within the company.
