Sean Cave, Maintenance Supervisor from the Press Maintenance department at UPUK has received his award for achieving Unipres Master Trainer for advanced GMTC training.

In august he received the award from Mitsunobu Yamanaka, Managing Director and Ian Vasey Deputy Managing Director who congratulated him on his achievement.

He is the first person outside of Japan to achieve this level of training which is an amazing achievement.

He said: “The training course was a fantastic experience, and I’d recommend anyone who has the chance to do it to grab it and take it all in.”

He has worked at the Sunderland plant for 5 years and was promoted to Maintenance Supervisor in January 2023.

Michael Morris Press and Assembly Maintenance Manager said: “I must congratulate Sean Cave on achieving Unipres Master Trainer for advanced GMTC training. It proves hard work and dedication pays off. Well done, it’s an honour to work alongside you.”

Sean Cave will now be able to deliver the training to other staff at the Sunderland plant.

In April, Maintenance Technicians Anthony Froud and Jordan Howe also received awards for completing GMTC training in Japan.

The UPUK training academy will be delivering more GMTC training to improve efficacy around the UK plant.
