Health, Safety and Environmental Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship

Why did you decide to do an apprenticeship at Unipres?

I decided to do an apprenticeship at Unipres as I am very interested in the manufacturing industry and working in a busy environment.

What skills have you learnt whilst on your apprenticeship?

I have learnt to support a safer working environment and facilitate risks and safety management systems within Unipres. I have learnt to develop my communication skills and independence, but also my team working skills and enthusiasm.

What advice would you give to someone thinking about doing an apprenticeship?

I would definitely suggest doing an apprenticeship to anybody. You gain a qualification whilst earning money and improving your career prospects. An apprenticeship also helps you meet new people and develop a number of skills whilst getting guidance and support to work towards your qualification.

What are you most proud of doing on your apprenticeship?

I am most proud of how I have developed my skills over the past 17 months, enabling me to complete tasks I would not have been able to do 17 months ago. For example, leading our Environmental ISO 14001 External surveillance audits to get zero minor and zero major non-conformances.

What do you hope to have achieved in the next five years?

In the next 5 years, I hope to continue to gain more knowledge and experience about my role and study more, hopefully acquiring more qualifications to further expand my knowledge.
